The Empowerment and Development Housing Resource Center (EDHRC) founded in 2018 is a nonprofit organization that is committed to empowering individuals and families through access to affordable housing, financial education, and supportive services. Our mission is to break down barriers to homeownership, foster economic stability, and build stronger, more equitable communities by providing the tools and resources needed for sustainable living and generational wealth building for working Americans.

Because of EDHRC, I was able to fix my credit, learn how to budget, and buy my first home. I never thought it was possible until I found them.

Our programs are designed to address critical needs related to affordable housing, economic development, financial literacy, and community revitalization, ultimately fostering sustainable growth and opportunity for all.

Faye Baker – Founder & Visionary Leader of EDHRC

Faye Baker is the founder and driving force behind the Empowerment and Development Housing Resource Center (EDHRC), a nonprofit organization based in the Detroit metropolitan area. Established in 2018, EDHRC is dedicated to revitalizing communities through impactful educational seminars and engagement solutions—that include house  rehabilitation and educational and social services that strengthen neighborhood stability and improve quality of life.

A Detroit native, Faye earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration, followed by a Master of Science in Administration at Central Michigan University. With over two decades of experience in real estate and housing counseling, she combines deep industry knowledge with an unwavering passion for community empowerment.

Through EDHRC, Faye champions homeownership education as a pathway to generational wealth and economic security. She leads workshops, one-on-one counseling sessions, and public events that equip individuals with the tools to navigate the mortgage process, improve credit, and make informed buying decisions.
